Polestar

Internship + Employment:
Copywriter. 2020–2025.

Text and language handling. In a myriad of ways.

Polestar Cars was my workplace from March 2020.

Initially entering the company for an internship as part of my copywriting education, I ended up getting employed at the tail end of 2020 and remained a full-time employee until the end of 2025.

My first two years at the company coincided both with the COVID-19 pandemic and an intensely expansive period for Polestar. This necessitated a great deal of flexibility from my work effort, dealing both with the limitations of remote/online meetings and the challenge of a very broad span of tasks for various departments. My technical background was a big asset, enabling me to quickly learn and adapt to a wide range of digital systems and work tools.

Digital department

UX writing, localisation, and content management

The Digital department was my official “home base” at Polestar. Under the title of Copywriter, I worked with everything from UX writing for e-commerce and mobile apps, to handling content management and translation requests in the CMS, to localisation editing and publishing for various web applications.

  • UX writing:
Mobile- and in-car apps, storefronts, checkout pages, order management, fleet portal, limited offers for storefronts

  • Content- and localisation management:
Checkout pages, order management, retailer portal

  • Content editing and publishing:
Order management, limited offers for storefronts

Polestar Design: Product UX

UX + technical writing, localisation editing, and QA

During 2024, I supported the Product UX team at Polestar Design, working with UX writing, technical writing, and localisation for the infotainment systems of three cars: Polestar 3, Polestar 4 and Polestar 5.
I worked with the UX designers in Figma and with the development teams by directly editing XML resource files for Android Automotive OS. Additionally, I supported the EcarX China team by doing a full localisation review of the English translation for the Chinese version of the Polestar 4 infotainment system.

  • UX writing:
    Polestar 4, Polestar 5

  • Localisation editing and quality assurance:
    Polestar 3, Polestar 4

  • Technical writing (system notifications):
    Polestar 4, Polestar 5

PR and Communications

Copywriting, translation, photography

Throughout my time at Polestar, I occasionally assisted the PR and Communications departments with writing and photography. I wrote a global press release in the summer of 2020, during my first year at the company, and a short article for the News page later the same year. I’ve continued to write numerous Swedish translations of news articles. More recently, I helped the comms department out with some press photos of Head of Sustainability Fredrika Klarén and PO for Charging & Energy Emanuella Wallin.

  • Copywriting and editing:
Press releases, news articles, interview questions

  • English to Swedish translations:
    News articles

  • Photography:
    Press photos for PR/Comms departments
